Here’s what the knowledge base says to check for QuickConnect troubleshooting:
1. Make sure the NAS is connected to an active network:
- Go to Control Panel > Network > Network Interface.
2. Check DNS and gateway settings:
- Go to Control Panel > Network > General.
- Make sure the DNS server and default gateway are properly configured.
3. Make sure the NAS can reach the Internet on these destination ports:
- 80
- 443
- 8888
4. If the issue is resolved after setting Get network configuration automatically (DHCP), the problem may be caused by the parent router’s settings.
- If you want to keep using Use manual configuration, make sure the Synology NAS is allowed to connect to the Internet in the parent router settings.
5. If you see a Network error occurred message:
- The QuickConnect service has stopped due to network errors.
- When the network errors are fixed, QuickConnect should resume automatically within a few minutes.
6. For better QuickConnect performance, Synology recommends port forwarding in:
- Control Panel > External Access > Router Configuration
- Ports mentioned:
- DSM: 5000 (HTTP), 5001 (HTTPS)
- Photo Station: 80 (HTTP), 443 (HTTPS)
- Cloud Station: 6690
7. Also note:
- Relayed QuickConnect connections may be slow due to longer network latency.
- When the router is allowed to create port forwarding rules for QuickConnect, the NAS may be exposed to security risk.
If you cannot sign in to your Synology Account to use QuickConnect services, the knowledge base points to a separate article for Synology Account access issues.
