Use Add Camera in Surveillance Station and choose one of these options:
- Generic / ONVIF setup: Surveillance Station supports all ONVIF protocol cameras. For cameras from renowned brands, the Generic setup can automatically analyze camera functions and load settings.
- User Define: If the camera supports RTSP streaming, you can configure it as a user-defined camera and save the recorded footage to Surveillance Station.
Steps from the guide:
1. Go to Surveillance Station Main Menu > IP Camera.
2. Click Add > Add Camera.
3. In the wizard, choose:
- Camera Search Result > General Interface (ONVIF), or
- [ONVIF] / the camera brand name from the Brand drop-down menu.
4. Select All functions or Streaming only.
5. Enter Username and Password.
6. Click Load Capability.
7. Click Test Connection.
8. Click Finish.
If the camera is not on the support list, Synology’s KB also says you can use the Integration Tool, follow the Generic/ONVIF setup, or configure the User Define setup.
