Which should you buy?

Choose the RS822RP+ if you want the newer Intel CPU, higher RAM ceiling, and built-in 10GbE support; it’s the stronger pick for heavier SMB use and better network headroom. Choose the RS820+ only if you’re okay with lower expansion and lower-cost older hardware; both are 4-bay units, but the RS822RP+ has the edge in upgradeability and performance. Neither model gives you M.2 slots on the base unit.
