Neither unit has 10GbE or M.2, and both are 4-bay rack NAS models with no native expansion. The RS812RP+ is the better buy if you want more headroom: it uses a newer/faster CPU and supports more RAM than the RS810+, while also adding redundant power supplies. If you only need basic storage and want the cheaper option, the RS810+ is sufficient.
