Choose the RS4826xs+ for most homes and SMBs: it uses a lower-tier CPU, supports less RAM, and offers fewer drive bays/expansion options, but still includes 10GbE and M.2 slots. Choose the RS6426xs+ for heavier virtualization and growth: its stronger CPU, higher RAM ceiling, more bays/expansion, 10GbE, and M.2 support justify the cost.
