Choose the RS2423RP+ if you want the newer, faster platform: it has a Ryzen V1780B CPU, up to 32GB RAM, 12 bays plus expansion, and optional 10GbE and M.2 SSD cache support. The RS2818RP+ is the older, slower Intel Atom C3538 model with a 64GB RAM ceiling, 16 bays via expansion, and no 10GbE or M.2 support.
