Choose the RS2418+ if you need more performance: it has a newer 4-core Atom C3538 versus the RS2416RP+’s 4-core Atom C2538, and supports up to 32GB RAM versus 6GB. Both provide 12 bays and expansion capability, but neither includes 10GbE or built-in M.2 NVMe slots, so choose the RS2418+ for its higher RAM ceiling and newer platform.
