Choose the RS2416+ for its newer quad-core CPU, 2GB RAM expandable to 6GB, and built-in M.2 SSD-cache support; the RS2414+ uses an older dual-core CPU, supports up to 3GB RAM, and has no M.2. Both provide 12 bays and optional 12-bay expansion, while neither includes 10GbE onboard, so 10GbE requires an add-in card.
