Choose the DS118 if you want the faster Intel CPU, 1 GB RAM ceiling, and the better chance of smoother performance under heavier SMB use; choose the DS119j only if you want the cheapest basic single-bay box. Both are 1-bay units with no expansion, and neither has 10GbE or M.2.
