Choose the DS109+ if you want the stronger CPU and higher RAM ceiling; those are the only meaningful performance advantages over the DS109. Both are single-bay units with no expansion, and neither has 10GbE or M.2 support, so if you need more than basic file serving, you should look beyond both.
