Pick the DS414 if you want the stronger platform: it has the faster CPU, supports more RAM, and is the better choice for heavier multitasking or more demanding SMB use. The DS414j is the budget option with a slower CPU and lower RAM ceiling, but both have 4 bays and no expansion, and neither offers 10GbE or M.2.
