Choose the DS412+ unless you specifically need a tiny, low-power 2.5" unit: it has a much stronger CPU, up to 3 GB RAM, and 4 bays versus the DS411slim’s 4 smaller 2.5" bays but far weaker platform. The DS412+ is also the only one with any real upgrade path for SMB use; neither model has 10GbE or M.2 support.
